hardThe ICC Cricket World Cup trophy, first introduced in a redesigned form for the 1999 tournament, replaced what kind of trophy tradition used in the earlier editions?
✓Different sponsor-branded trophies for each edition (Prudential Cup, Reliance Cup, Benson & Hedges Cup, Wills Cup)
BThere was no trophy at all before 1999
CThe same physical trophy has always been used since 1975
DOnly a certificate was given, no physical trophy
Answer Explanation
Before the ICC introduced a standardised, permanently retained trophy design from the 1999 World Cup onward, earlier editions were named after their title sponsors, such as the Prudential Cup (1975, 1979, 1983) and Reliance Cup (1987).
