Bangladesh's tour of South Africa packs two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is into four weeks, starting on 15 November at the Wanderers in Johannesburg and ending on 13 December at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Eight matches at seven different venues, and a new set of squads for every format.
Squads have not been announced yet. This guide has the full schedule in IST, the grounds, and a format-by-format approach for fantasy, and it will be updated as squads arrive. All eight matches are live on CricketDream.
Two Tests, 15 and 23 November
Three ODIs, 1 to 7 December
Three T20Is, 10 to 13 December
The grounds
- The Wanderers, Johannesburg (1st Test): at altitude, with pace and bounce. The ball carries and quick bowlers are the first picks.
- SuperSport Park, Centurion (2nd Test and 3rd T20I): another bouncy venue where seam and good pace bowling tend to dominate.
- Buffalo Park, East London (1st ODI), St George's Park, Gqeberha (2nd ODI) and Newlands, Cape Town (3rd ODI): three different conditions in a week, from coastal swing to a ground where spin comes in late.
- Diamond Oval, Kimberley (1st T20I) and Willowmoore Park, Benoni (2nd T20I): two venues that do not often host international cricket, so look at the pitch report before you pick.
Format-by-format fantasy
- Tests: pick the quicks and the allrounders. Pace bowlers get wickets in every innings on South African pitches, so they are the safest captains.
- ODIs: the afternoon starts mean a fresh pitch for the first innings. Look for new-ball bowlers and top-order batters who can build.
- T20Is: batters who score quickly in the powerplay earn the most points. The first T20I in Kimberley is a late evening start, so check the toss.
- Overall: the three formats are all in one tour, so build a squad per format and check the confirmed XIs every time.
Match times shift through the tour. The Tests start at 1:30 PM IST, the ODIs at 5:00 PM IST and the T20Is at 6:00 PM or 9:30 PM IST. Match reminders in CricketDream make it easy to follow the lock time.
Series outlook
South Africa are strong at home in all three formats, and the Test series should favour their pace attack. Bangladesh are most likely to compete in the T20Is. Set your own call in a free Predictor game before each match.
