Finding the best fantasy cricket app in India in 2026 means looking at a very different market than a year ago. India's Online Gaming Act, passed in 2025, banned real-money online games including fantasy sports. Every major platform that ran paid contests had to rebuild around free-to-play. Dream11, My11Circle, MPL and the rest all made the same switch. This guide covers what that means for you, what types of cricket games are worth playing now, and how to pick the right app depending on whether you want to build teams, draft players, predict match results or play daily cricket quizzes.
What the 2025 gaming ban actually changed
The Online Gaming Act drew no distinction between games of skill and games of chance. Both were covered. Fantasy cricket platforms that had built everything around paid entry fees and cash withdrawals had to drop that model nationwide. Dream11 shut down real-money operations and asked users to withdraw balances. My11Circle and MPL made the same shift to free-entry contests with non-cash rewards. The result: free fantasy cricket is now the entire legal market in India, not just the alternative.
What free fantasy cricket actually means in 2026
- No entry fee across all major platforms, not just smaller ones
- Some platforms offer non-cash rewards like vouchers or merchandise for contest wins
- Some platforms, CricketDream included, offer no prize structure at all. No entry fee, no prize pool, no vouchers. Just your score, your rank, and bragging rights
- Every platform still needs a sign-up. Free does not mean anonymous.
Best free cricket game types in 2026 (and what each one offers)
Not all free cricket apps are the same. Here is a breakdown of the main types you will find, and what CricketDream offers in each category.
Standard Fantasy XI
You pick 11 players, assign a captain and vice-captain, and score points based on how those players perform in the match. This is the core format every app offers. On CricketDream you can build a Fantasy XI for every IPL and international match, with live scoring and a full transparent points breakdown before you lock in.
Best draft fantasy cricket app in India
Draft format is where the game gets more interesting. Instead of picking from the full player pool, you take turns with other managers to draft players, so no two teams can have the same player. This means the best captain choice is no longer automatic. CricketDream has both a match-by-match Draft mode and a Multi-Draft format that runs across a full tournament season without resetting every match.
Best cricket predictor app free
If you would rather predict match outcomes than build a team, the Predictor game on CricketDream lets you forecast results and earn points based on accuracy. No player picking required. It works well for people who follow cricket closely but prefer reading the game over managing a squad.
Best free cricket quiz and daily game apps
CricketDream has two daily cricket games worth knowing about. CricketQuest is a daily cricket guessing game where you identify a mystery player from clues. Cricket Grid is a puzzle where you place IPL players across a team-vs-stat matrix. Both are free, no sign-in required, and reset daily. There is also a multiplayer Quiz game where you compete against others in live cricket trivia rounds.
Season fantasy and private leagues
Season Fantasy lets you pick one squad at the start of a tournament and stick with it through every match, earning points cumulatively without rebuilding each week. Private Groups give you an auto-generated league code to share with friends so you compete on a private leaderboard rather than the whole platform.
Why CricketDream is the best all-in-one free cricket platform in India
Most cricket apps do one thing. Dream11 built its name on standard fantasy XI. Others do quiz or trivia. A few have tried draft. CricketDream is the only platform that covers all of it in one place, completely free, with no entry fee ever and no prize pool to chase. You can build a team for today's match, then spend five minutes on CricketQuest, then join a season-long Draft league with your friend group, then check who wins the cricket quiz tonight. All on the same platform, no separate downloads, no separate accounts.
- Fantasy XI for every IPL and international match with live scoring and transparent points
- Draft mode where no two managers share a player, making every captain pick genuinely matter
- Multi-Draft and Season Fantasy that run across a full tournament without resetting each match

For daily games like quizzes and puzzles, CricketDream has CricketQuest, Cricket Grid and a multiplayer Quiz. For pure match prediction, the Predictor game handles that without needing to pick a team at all.
Is fantasy cricket free in India now?
