Dynasty Fantasy Cricket — How to Play, Win, and Rule the Full Season

Dynasty is CricketDream's multi-match fantasy cricket league mode. One invite, all matches, auto-entry every game. Learn how it works, winning strategies, and why it's the best way to compete with friends across IPL 2026.

What if you never had to worry about joining a new fantasy game for every match? What if one league covered an entire series — and your team auto-entered every fixture automatically? That's Dynasty: CricketDream's invite-only multi-match fantasy championship. Build it once, compete all season, crown one winner.

What Is Dynasty Fantasy Cricket?

Dynasty is a fantasy cricket format where a group of friends — or colleagues, or rivals — compete across multiple IPL matches in a single league. The league creator picks any set of upcoming matches. Every member's Team 1 is automatically entered into each of those matches. Points accumulate across every game, and the player with the highest total at the end wins the Dynasty.

Dynasty is fundamentally different from standard per-match fantasy leagues, draft games, or even Multi Draft. There's no drafting, no squad constraints, no separate joining per game. You play your own Fantasy XI — just like you do for a normal match — and Dynasty tracks your performance across an entire series automatically.

  • One league, multiple matches — compete across any number of IPL fixtures
  • Your Team 1 is auto-entered every match — no manual joining per game
  • Invite-only with a 6-character code — keep it tight with your friend group
  • Cumulative points crown the overall Dynasty champion
  • Auto-team creation if you forget — we build a team for you 3 hours before kick-off
  • Full per-game breakdown in the leaderboard — see exactly where you gained or lost ground

How Dynasty Works — Step by Step

Step 1: Create Your Dynasty League

Go to the Dynasty section and click Create Dynasty. Give your league a name — "Office Season Champions", "Top 4 Battle", "Bhai Group IPL 2026" — whatever fits your crew. Then pick the matches you want to include. You can pick 2 matches or 20. The order you select them becomes the game order in the leaderboard.

💡

Pro tip: Pick a clean block of matches — e.g. all matches from Match 30 onwards, or all matches featuring your favourite teams. A focused set of 6–10 matches makes for a tense, fast-moving Dynasty.

Step 2: Share the Invite Code

After creating, you get a unique 6-character invite code and a shareable link. Send it to your group. Anyone who clicks the link or enters the code at cricketdream.in/dynasty/join/[code] is instantly in the league. There's no approval process — the code is the gate.

Step 3: Build Your Team 1 for Each Match

For every match in the Dynasty, head to the team builder and build (or update) your Team 1 as you normally would. Select 11 players, set your captain and vice-captain, and save. That's it. Dynasty automatically links your Team 1 to the league — you don't join anything separately.

This is the key insight: Dynasty isn't a separate game mode with separate teams. It uses your regular Fantasy XI. The same team you build for the match leaderboard is the same team that competes in your Dynasty league. One action, two competitions.

Step 4: Auto-Entry — You're Always In

Dynasty members are always entered in every match in the league, even if they haven't saved a team yet. If you haven't built your Team 1 by 3 hours before the match starts, Dynasty will auto-create one for you using the best available players from the two teams — respecting all squad composition and budget rules.

💡

Auto-created teams are marked with an AUTO badge in the Dynasty leaderboard so everyone can see it happened. You'll also get a browser notification when your auto-team is created — tap it to review and update before the match locks.

Step 5: Watch the Leaderboard Evolve

The Dynasty leaderboard updates after every match. You can see: your rank, total cumulative points, and a per-game column for each match (G1, G2, G3...). Expand any player's row to see a full game-by-game breakdown. After Match 1, someone might lead. After Match 5, the lead might have flipped three times. That sustained tension is what makes Dynasty special.

Dynasty vs Other Fantasy Cricket Formats

Understanding where Dynasty fits in the fantasy cricket ecosystem helps you choose the right format for the right occasion.

  • Fantasy XI (standard) — pick your team for one match, compete on a per-match leaderboard. Good for casual play. Resets every match.
  • Private Leagues — create a league for one match, share a code, friends compete on that match's leaderboard only. Dynasty is like private leagues extended across many matches.
  • Draft Mode — snake draft with friends where each player can only be picked once. Requires live participation. Single match.
  • Multi Draft — draft a squad once and compete across 2–14 matches. One squad, multiple matches. Requires participation in a synchronous draft.
  • Dynasty — no draft, no squad lock-in, no separate joining per game. Just build your normal Team 1 and compete across a full multi-match league automatically. Lowest friction, longest competition.
💡

Dynasty is the format for groups who want a season-long competition without the overhead of a draft or remembering to join every match. Set it up once before Match 1 and it runs itself.

Dynasty Winning Strategies

1. Think in Series, Not Matches

In a standard fantasy game, you optimise for one match. In Dynasty, you're building across many matches. A player who scores 50 points in 8 out of 10 matches is worth more than one who scores 150 once and 0 the other nine times. Consistency is king in Dynasty.

  • Openers who are guaranteed starters in all matches — they score every game, not just occasionally
  • Workhouse bowlers who bowl their full 4 overs every game — consistent economy and wicket points
  • All-rounders who bat top-6 AND bowl — two point-scoring disciplines per match
  • Players with secure batting positions — avoid batsmen who get dropped to No. 7 when conditions change

2. Captain Selection Is the Biggest Lever

Your captain earns 2× points. Over 10 matches, the right consistent captain can contribute 500–800 extra points compared to a wrong pick. Unlike single-match fantasy where you can change your captain for every game, your Dynasty strategy should identify your go-to captaincy player and lean on them heavily across the series.

  • Best Dynasty captains: top-order openers (face the most balls across all matches), genuine all-rounders who bat and bowl every game, wicketkeepers who open the batting
  • Rotate your VC slot: keep a consistent captain but switch your vice-captain based on match conditions and upcoming fixtures
  • In batting-friendly venues (Bengaluru, Mumbai), double down on batting captain
  • On challenging pitches (Chennai, Kolkata early season), consider an all-rounder captain who can contribute with the ball

3. Don't Ignore the Auto-Team Fallback — Plan Around It

The auto-team feature is a safety net, not a strategy. If you let your team be auto-created regularly, you'll be competitive but rarely optimal. The teams that win Dynasty leagues are built by people who update their Team 1 before every match based on playing XI news, pitch reports, and current form.

That said: if you're on a winning streak and your Team 1 hasn't changed — don't change it unnecessarily. If the same XI is in form and all playing, keep them. Dynasty rewards confident, consistent selection.

4. Chase Points Ruthlessly in the Final Matches

In the final 2–3 matches of a Dynasty, if you're behind on points, you need to be aggressive. Pick a high-risk, high-reward captain — an all-rounder with both batting and bowling potential, a player in exceptional form right now. Safe captains preserve your position; aggressive captains move you up.

💡

If you're ahead in Dynasty with 2 matches to go, mirror your opponent's captain. If they pick Rohit, you pick Rohit. This minimises the risk of a captain differential blowing up your lead.

5. Watch the Leaderboard After Every Match

The per-game breakdown in the Dynasty leaderboard is a goldmine. After each match, check which players scored most for your rivals. Are they consistently picking the same captain? Is someone on a run with differentials? Use this intel to adjust your picks for the next game.

Joining a Dynasty League — For New Members

Got an invite from a friend? Click the link or go to cricketdream.in/dynasty and tap Join Dynasty, then enter the 6-character code. You're in instantly. Your Team 1s for all upcoming matches in the league will be tracked automatically from now on.

  1. Click the invite link or go to Dynasty → Join Dynasty
  2. Enter the 6-character invite code
  3. You're in — your Dynasty league appears in your Dynasty dashboard
  4. Build your Team 1 for the next upcoming match in the league before it locks
  5. Watch your points accumulate on the leaderboard after every game
💡

Joined a Dynasty mid-series? Your points for already-completed matches will show as 0. Focus on the remaining matches — you can still close a points gap with strong captain picks and consistent team selection.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dynasty

Does Dynasty use a separate team from my normal Fantasy XI?

No. Dynasty uses your Team 1 for each match — the exact same team you build in the regular team builder. There are no separate Dynasty-only teams. If you build a great Fantasy XI for a match, you compete on both the match leaderboard and in all Dynasty leagues you're part of for that match. One team, multiple competitions.

What happens if I forget to build my team before a match?

3 hours before the match starts, Dynasty checks if you have a Team 1 saved. If you don't, it auto-creates one using the best available players from both teams, respecting the 100 Cr budget, role requirements, and team cap. You'll receive a push notification when it happens so you can review and update it before the lock.

Can I change my team between matches?

Yes — and you should. Your Team 1 for each match is independent. Build the best team for Match 5 conditions, then build a different team for Match 6 if different players are in better form or different venues favour different player types.

How many matches can a Dynasty league have?

There's no hard limit. You can pick 2 matches for a short head-to-head or select an entire block of IPL fixtures for a full season battle. Most Dynasty leagues work best with 6–15 matches — long enough to build a narrative, short enough to stay intense.

How many people can join a Dynasty?

Dynasty leagues are unlimited in members. Invite 4 friends or 40. The leaderboard scales — it's always sorted by total points with medal ranks for the top 3.

Is Dynasty free to play?

Yes, completely free. Like all formats on CricketDream — Fantasy XI, Draft, Multi Draft, private Leagues — Dynasty costs nothing to create, join, or play. No entry fees, no real-money wagering.

Why Dynasty Is the Best Fantasy Format for IPL 2026

IPL 2026 has 74 matches over two months. Standard per-match fantasy is fun, but there's no cumulative story — each match resets, context disappears, the competition restarts. Dynasty changes that. Every match builds on the last. A bad week can be recovered. A great captain call can make you the undisputed champion. By the time the final match is played, everyone in your Dynasty has been on a journey together — and there's a clear, indisputable winner.

  • No drafting pressure — join any time before the first match, no synchronous scheduling required
  • Your normal game counts — Team 1 you build for the match leaderboard also competes in Dynasty automatically
  • Low maintenance — build your team for the match (which you'd do anyway) and Dynasty takes care of the rest
  • High reward — cumulative points over 10+ matches separate genuine skill from luck far more than any single game
  • Auto-safety net — the auto-team means you're never eliminated for forgetting, but active players always have the edge

Start your Dynasty league now — pick your matches, share the code, and crown a champion.
