Fantasy cricket is about making the best decisions with the information available. The Compare Players tool on CricketDream lets you put two players side-by-side and see their stats, recent form, and performance in a single view. It's the easiest way to decide between two similar players and build a stronger fantasy XI.
Why Compare Players?
- You're building a team and have a budget for one more batter — is it Batsman A or Batsman B?
- Deciding between two all-rounders with similar price tags — which one has better recent form?
- Comparing bowlers for a specific pitch — which one took more wickets in similar conditions recently?
- Two players have the same average but different consistency — the compare tool shows you the variance.

- Click Compare Players or use the Compare Players shortcut from any player profile

Batting Stats
- Matches played this season
- Runs scored (total and average)
- Highest score and lowest score
- Strike rate (overall and last 5 matches)
- Half-centuries and centuries
- Fours and sixes (total and per match average)
- Consistency (std dev of scores)
Bowling Stats
- Matches played and overs bowled
- Wickets taken (total and per match average)
- Economy rate (overall and last 5 matches)
- Best bowling figures in a single match
- Wickets in death overs (16–20)
- Maiden overs bowled
Using Form Filters
The compare tool shows stats for 'All IPL 2026' but you can filter by time period:
- Last 5 matches — recent form is everything in fantasy cricket
- Last 10 matches — enough sample to spot trends
- Home venue — many players perform better at home
- Against specific teams — check if the player has a strong history vs the opponent
- Current series — for multi-match formats, see how they've performed in the ongoing series
When comparing openers, always check their Last 5 form. A batsman averaging 45 overall but 60 in the last 5 matches is in better current form than a batsman averaging 50 overall but 30 in the last 5.
Common Comparisons That Win Leagues
Comparison 1: Two Openers, Same Price
You have budget for one opener. Compare their last 5 averages, strike rates, and recent form. The one with higher recent average + higher strike rate is the pick. Don't go by career stats — go by form.
Comparison 2: Bowler vs All-Rounder, Same Price
All-rounders are usually better value because they score from two disciplines. But compare the all-rounder's recent bowling average against a specialist bowler's wicket rate. If the specialist bowler averages 1.5 wickets per match and the all-rounder averages 0.5, the specialist might be the safer pick.
Comparison 3: Finding Differentials
In a large league, everyone picks the obvious stars. Compare two lesser-owned players — maybe a No. 4 batsman vs a No. 6 all-rounder. The compare tool shows you who's in better recent form. Picking the in-form player that others overlook is how you win big.
Venue-Specific Comparisons
Use the venue filter to see how players perform at specific grounds. Compare Kohli's stats at Bengaluru (his home ground) vs away venues. A player who averages 60 at home but 35 away is a strong home pick but risky away.
- Home field advantage — most players score 10–15% higher at their home venue
- High-scoring grounds (Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi) favour batsmen — compare batting-heavy squads here
- Bowling-friendly grounds (Chennai, Kolkata early season) favour bowlers — compare bowling stars here
