How to use the Diff tab on CricketDream
When building your team, tap the 🎯 Diff tab in the player browser. It filters to every player owned by fewer than 15% of submitted teams, sorted by recent form. You're looking for players who are under the radar but due for a performance — not players who are ignored because they're genuinely bad.
- Green % = differential (<15% ownership) — potential rank-climber
- Amber % = popular (≥60% ownership) — safe, but limited upside

Four situations where going differential pays off
1. A lower-order batter promoted up the order
Toss news matters enormously. When a team decides to bat first and a power-hitter gets promoted from No. 6 to No. 3, their expected points explode — but only 8% of teams will have reacted fast enough. Watch the Playing XI alert when it arrives and look for order changes.
2. Spinners at a spin-friendly venue
The pitch report is public information, but most casual players ignore it. If a spinner with moderate ownership is playing at MA Chidambaram (Chennai) or Ekana (Lucknow), that 12% ownership could be a steal. CricketDream's captain optimizer accounts for venue pitch type automatically.
3. Death-overs specialist in an ODI

If a player passes all three — confirmed XI, decent recent form, pitch-aligned role — they're a serious candidate for C or VC, not just a filler pick.
When not to go differential
Low ownership is not the same as value. A player at 3% ownership who hasn't scored 20 points in five matches is not a differential — they're just ignored for good reason. Only contrast ownership with form. If a player is popular AND in form, their high ownership is probably correct; fight that battle elsewhere in your XI.
