Introducing Cricket Grid: A New Daily Cricket Trivia Puzzle

CricketDream's new daily game: Cricket Grid. Name a real cricketer for every IPL team x category square in a 3x3 board, one shot per square. Free to play, new grid every day.

CricketDream has a new daily game: Cricket Grid. Every day there's a fresh 3x3 board. Three IPL teams down the side, three categories across the top. Your job is to name a real cricketer who fits both for each of the 9 squares, with one attempt per square and no reusing a player twice in the same grid.

How a square works

Take a row like Chennai Super Kings and a column like Wicketkeeper. The square where they meet needs a name that's both: someone tied to CSK who plays as a wicketkeeper. Some squares have one clean answer everyone lands on eventually. Others have a handful of real options, which is where it gets interesting: any correct name locks the square in green, but so does knowing enough to even try.

Why it's built the way it is

Every square's valid answers are computed from real, verified career data before the puzzle ever goes live, not guessed at on the fly. That means no square can come up empty, and it means the categories stay honest: a stat threshold like 100+ international wickets is checked against actual career figures, not a rough estimate. If a square only has one fair answer, that's the puzzle being hard, not broken.

The rules

  • One attempt per square. Right or wrong, it locks in immediately.
  • You can't use the same player twice in one grid, even if they'd fit two different squares.
  • A new grid publishes every day. Your score is how many of the 9 you got right.
  • Free to play. No entry fee, no prize pool, same as everything else on CricketDream.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Cricket Grid?

A daily 3x3 trivia puzzle. Each square is the intersection of an IPL team and a category — country, playing role, career-stat threshold, or format — and you name a real cricketer who satisfies both.

How many guesses do I get per square?

One. Once you submit a name for a square, right or wrong, it locks in and you move to the next one.

Is Cricket Grid free?

Yes — no entry fee, no cash prizes, and no account requirement beyond a free CricketDream login.
