How many players are in a cricket team?

A cricket team consists of 11 players. In Test matches and most formats, each team fields 11 players, though T20 leagues sometimes use substitute fielding rules.

What is a century in cricket?

A century is when a batsman scores 100 or more runs in a single innings. It is one of cricket's most celebrated individual milestones. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most international centuries with 100 across all formats.

How long does a Test cricket match last?

A Test match is scheduled for a maximum of 5 days, with up to 90 overs per day. A match can end earlier if one team wins by dismissing the opposition twice or the match is drawn.

What is the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method?

The DLS method is a mathematical formula used to recalculate target scores in limited-overs cricket when a match is interrupted by rain or other factors. It takes into account the overs and wickets remaining for each team.

What does "LBW" mean in cricket?

LBW stands for Leg Before Wicket. A batsman is given out LBW when the ball hits their body (typically the leg) in front of the stumps and would have gone on to hit the stumps, provided the ball did not pitch outside leg stump and the batsman was not playing a shot (in some interpretations).

How many formats of international cricket are there?

There are three main formats of international cricket: Test cricket (5-day matches, unlimited overs), One Day Internationals or ODIs (50 overs per side), and T20 Internationals (20 overs per side). The ICC also recognises other formats like T10 at certain levels.
