The Gulf Giants won the first ILT20 final in 2023, beating Desert Vipers by seven wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (149/3 against 146/8). Since then they have not made the final, and they finished fifth last season.
Their Season 5 squad is the one most heavily built around batting: Liam Livingstone, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

How last season went
The Giants won three of ten games in Season 4 and finished fifth, level on 6 points with Sharjah Warriorz. They had the least money left after the Season 5 auction of any team except the MI Emirates, USD 28,000, and they spent it on a list of white-ball stars.
