The difference between winning and losing in fantasy cricket often comes down to understanding the scoring system. Here's every rule, every point source, and every multiplier.
Player Selection (Team Composition)
- Total players: 11 (no fixed positional requirement)
- Budget: 100 Crores (auction-style picks)
- Captain: Earns 2× points (must be from your 11)
- Vice-Captain: Earns 1.5× points (must be from your 11)
- Minimum players per team: 3 (can't load entire squad from one team)
Batting Points (Complete Breakdown)
- +4 pts: Just for being in the playing XI
- +1 pt per run scored (unbounded)
- +2 pts per four hit
- +4 pts per six hit
- +15 pts: Half-century (50–99 runs)
- +30 pts: Century (100+ runs)
- -2 pts: Duck (dismissed for 0)
- +8 pts: Strike rate ≥170 (min 20 balls faced)
- +4 pts: Strike rate 150–169
- -6 pts: Strike rate <70 (min 20 balls faced)
Bowling Points (Complete Breakdown)
- +25 pts: Per wicket taken
- +15 pts: 3-wicket haul bonus

- +10 pts: Direct run-out (fielder runs batter out)
- +10 pts: Indirect run-out (fielder throws at stumps, batter run out)
- +10 pts: 3+ fielding credits bonus (any combination of catches/stumpings/run-outs)
Special Awards
- +25 pts: Man of the Match (awarded by match officials)
Captain & Vice-Captain Multipliers
- Captain: All points × 2
- Vice-Captain: All points × 1.5
- Example: Captain scores 70 pts → receives 140 pts
- Example: VC scores 60 pts → receives 90 pts
- Note: Multipliers apply to ALL points (batting, bowling, fielding, bonuses, MOM)
What Points DON'T Apply
- Sixes or fours on overthrows (counts as runs only)
- Byes or leg-byes (don't count towards batter's runs)
- Penalty runs (batting team doesn't get fantasy points)
- Super-over performances (not included in standard league)
Example Scoring Calculation
Match: RCB vs MI, Bengaluru Your Captain: Virat Kohli (RCB)
Virat Kohli Actual Performance: - 72 runs off 48 balls - 6 fours, 2 sixes - Strike rate: 150% - Played till 17th over
Points Calculation: +4 (being in XI) +72 (runs) +12 (6 fours × 2) +8 (2 sixes × 4) +15 (50+ runs bonus) +0 (100+ = no bonus) +0 (SR 150–169 = +4, but already counted) = 111 base points ×2 (captain multiplier) = 222 fantasy points for Kohli alone
What Scores Are "Good" by Match Type?
- Under 300 pts: Below average (player missed game or low scoring)
- 300–500 pts: Average (solid team, few strong contributors)
- 500–700 pts: Good (multiple 50+ point players)
- 700–900 pts: Excellent (captain delivered big)
- 900+ pts: Exceptional (captain score 80+ or multiple big performances)
Common Scoring Questions
Q: If a player doesn't bat, do I get the +4 for being in XI?
A: Yes. If they're in the playing XI, you get +4 automatically, even if they don't bat.
Q: Does a bowler get points for catching their own ball?
A: No. Only fielders/wicketkeepers earn catch points, not bowlers.
Q: What if my captain scores 0?
A: You get -4 pts (duck penalty × 2). Worst case scenario — that's why captain choice is critical.
Q: Do bonus points apply to captain/VC score?
A: Yes. All points (including bonuses) are multiplied by captain (2×) or VC (1.5×).
