Ashleigh Gardner topped the runs at the Under-18 national championships in January 2015, won player of the championship, and led New South Wales to the title. Two years later she was playing for Australia. Her route to the national side ran through the Sydney Sixers, and nearly a decade on she is the club's captain.
Gardner has played 145 WBBL matches and her all-round numbers are unusually balanced. With the bat she has 2,750 runs at 21.65 and a strike rate of 120.4, including 14 fifties and a hundred. With the ball she has 121 wickets at 22.05 with an economy of 7.16, and a best of 5 for 15. She has also taken 60 catches. Few players in the competition contribute in all three areas this often.

Gardner in WBBL 2026 Season Fantasy
Gardner is priced at 10 Cr, the joint second-highest tag in the pool, and she is registered as an all-rounder. That role label is where her value comes from: she bats in the middle order, bowls her overs and takes catches, which means points arrive from several sources in a single match. The Sixers open away at Brisbane Heat on 30 October. She is also in Australia's ODI and T20I squads for the home series in October, so she arrives in match rhythm.
An all-rounder who bowls four overs is the safest points source in a T20 fantasy squad, because a bad batting day is cushioned by bowling points. Gardner has taken 19 wickets in a season, so the floor is high.
