The Sixers have five names priced at 8.5 Cr or higher, and that is the whole fantasy question: where do you spend? They have played more WBBL finals than anyone, five, and won two. They finished second last season and lost the Challenger by 11 runs. Alyssa Healy has retired and the squad has a new look.
How to Budget Around the Big Two
Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner are both 10 Cr. Together they cost 20 Cr, which leaves 80 Cr for nine players, an average of about 8.9 each. Add Alice Capsey at 9 Cr and you have 71 Cr for eight players, still about 8.9 each. That arithmetic matters because the rest of your squad then has to be mostly mid-priced, with room for only a couple of 6.5 Cr picks.
In WBBL Season Fantasy you pick 11 players inside a 100 Cr budget, with at most 8 from one franchise and a minimum of 1 keeper, 3 batters, 1 all-rounder and 3 bowlers. You get 150 transfers across the whole tournament.
Three Ways to Build
The star-heavy build
Pick Perry and Gardner, then fill with the best 6.5 to 8 Cr players from across the league. You get two all-rounders who earn from bat, ball and catches. The risk is cover: if either has a quiet match, your points drop sharply.
The spread build
Take one of the two and pair her with Kerr at 8.5 Cr or Dunkley at 8.5 Cr. Kerr is a leg-spinner with 84 WBBL wickets, and Dunkley made 354 runs at an average of 39.33 last season, second for the club behind Perry's 412.
The value build
Skip the top tier and use Darke (6.5 Cr, keeper), Nicklin (6 Cr, all-rounder), Bray (6.5 Cr, keeper) and Sippel (6.5 Cr, bowler) to free up credits elsewhere. Nicklin, 21, took 11 wickets in five matches on the Australia A tour of India.
