The Scorchers have the most lopsided calendar in the competition. They have the WBBL's all-time leading run-scorer, a returning two-time Player of the Tournament and an England star, plus Pakistan's captain who is only available for the first eight games. This guide is built around that calendar.
The Plan, Game by Game
The simple version: if you want Sana, play her early and plan the swap before 27 November. With 150 transfers you can afford to treat her as a three-week rental. Perth open at home against Melbourne Renegades at the WACA on 31 October.
In WBBL Season Fantasy you pick 11 players inside a 100 Cr budget, with at most 8 from one franchise and a minimum of 1 keeper, 3 batters, 1 all-rounder and 3 bowlers. You get 150 transfers across the whole tournament.
The Core Four
- Beth Mooney, 10.5 Cr, keeper: the all-time WBBL run record holder and player of the match in both the Knockout and the Challenger last year.
- Sophie Devine, 9.5 Cr: re-signed for her seventh season with the club, and took 15 wickets last year and finished joint third in the Player of the Tournament voting.
- Fatima Sana, 9 Cr: Pakistan captain, 31 T20I wickets and 540 runs this year, available for the first eight games.
- Freya Kemp, 9 Cr: England batter on a one-year deal for her second Scorchers season.
Alana King at 8.5 Cr is the best of the rest. She shared the WBBL|10 wicket lead with Sam Bates on 20 and is in Australia's squads for the October series. Katie Mack, 7 Cr, made 52 in last season's Knockout win over Melbourne Stars.
