Fatima Sana nominated for the WBBL overseas draft last year, a draft that has since been shelved, and no club picked her. This year Perth Scorchers signed her directly. She is the second Pakistan player in WBBL history after Nida Dar, who played 11 games for Sydney Thunder in WBBL|05, and she told the club the move was "a dream come true."
Sana is a 24-year-old allrounder who has led Pakistan permanently since the 2024 T20 World Cup. Cricinfo has her at 31 wickets in 20 innings at an economy of 7.35 and 540 runs at a strike rate of 149.58 in T20Is this year. No Pakistan woman has scored more runs or taken more wickets in the format. She has no WBBL record yet, so every figure here is from international and other franchise cricket.
Her Year
Which Games Is She Available For?
Perth say she is available for the first eight games. Based on the published fixture list, that covers Perth's first eight league matches, ending with the Sixers game on 21 November. Cricinfo understands her stay could be extended if she is allowed to skip a Pakistan training camp ahead of the tour of the West Indies, which is expected to start in the second week of December.
The Scorchers' last two league games, against Hobart on 27 November and Brisbane on 29 November, fall outside that window unless her stay is extended. Source for her availability: Perth Scorchers, Cricket Australia and Cricinfo, October 2026.
Trivia

- She has also played in the women's Caribbean Premier League and in New Zealand's Super Smash, in 2022 and 2023.
- Her 11 World Cup wickets made her the joint second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament, level with Sophie Molineux and behind N Shree Charani on 14.
Sana in WBBL 2026 Season Fantasy
Sana is priced at 9 Cr as an all-rounder. She has a very strong recent form record, but a limited window. With 150 transfers you can pick her for the first three weeks and plan to swap her out before 27 November. Perth open at the WACA against Melbourne Renegades on 31 October.
A player who leaves after eight games is a good use of a transfer rather than a reason to avoid her. Pick her for the first block, then move the credits to someone in form once she goes.
