Georgia Wareham won last season's Player of the Tournament award by a single vote. The umpires' votes had her on 25, Meg Lanning on 24, Sophie Devine and Danni Wyatt-Hodge on 22 and Beth Mooney on 20, so five votes covered the top five. Wareham also won the Golden Arm for the most wickets, and she did it after leading the Renegades for the first time.
Wareham has played 99 WBBL matches. She has 1,122 runs at 30.32 with a strike rate of 130.77, five fifties and a top score of 69, plus 78 wickets at 23.87 with an economy of 6.89 and best figures of 3 for 12. Those career numbers hide how good WBBL|11 was: 19 wickets at 10.94 with an economy of 5.47 in 10 matches, her best bowling season, and 277 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 147.34.
The Breakout Season
“She's really calm ... she's hitting the ball beautifully and bowling superbly as a leggy which is always really hard in T20 tournaments.”
Australia coach Shelley Nitschke called her "a really key person in the team across all three skills" at the World Cup. Cricket Australia reports she scored 32 off 22 against South Africa and 41 off 18 against the Netherlands in that tournament, batting in the middle order alongside Ashleigh Gardner.

Wareham in WBBL 2026 Season Fantasy
Wareham is priced at 9 Cr as an all-rounder. The Renegades open against Sydney Thunder at Junction Oval on 29 October, and she is in Australia's ODI and T20I squads for the October home series, which finish a week before the league starts. With Hayley Matthews back from injury and Molineux in the side, the Renegades have a deep all-round group, and Wareham's batting position in the middle order gives her more balls than a typical spinner gets.
Wareham's economy of 5.47 last season is the kind of number that keeps a bowler's points steady even without wickets. Pair her with a pure batter and you have a very stable core.
