The highest individual score in a WBBL final belongs to Hayley Matthews. She made 69 off 61 balls and took two wickets as Melbourne Renegades won their first title in 2024/25, and she was player of the match. Then she missed the whole of the following season with a shoulder injury. This summer she is back, and the Renegades are better for it.
Matthews has played 94 WBBL games, scoring 1,697 runs at 20.7 with a strike rate of 107.2 and four fifties. With the ball she has 78 wickets at 23.74 and an economy of 6.98, including a five-wicket haul of 5 for 19. She has taken 27 catches. In WBBL|10 she made 324 runs at a strike rate of 130.6 and took 14 wickets, and she was named in that year's Team of the Tournament.
Her Story
The 2016 World T20 final innings is the one West Indies fans remember. In 2022 Cricket Australia reported her appointment as captain, taking over from Stafanie Taylor. In 2026 she is back at Junction Oval for the Renegades alongside Deandra Dottin, who also returns for a third season.

Matthews in WBBL 2026 Season Fantasy
Matthews is priced at 10 Cr, the joint second-highest in the pool, as an all-rounder. The Renegades open against Sydney Thunder at Junction Oval on 29 October, and play all their Melbourne home games at that ground. The question for any returning injury case is match fitness, so it is worth watching her first few appearances before treating her as your captain.
Players coming back from long injuries often bowl fewer overs at first. If you see her getting fewer than four overs in her first game, expect the points to come mostly from the bat.
