Most players coast at 39. David Warner welcomed Mitchell Starc back to the Big Bash with a six, then finished BBL|15 with 110 not out, 82, 67 not out and 130 not out, for a team that finished last. Warner signed on again and turned 40 in October.
Warner came to the BBL full-time after international retirement, and the numbers look like those of a player with nothing left to prove. An average of 49.52 from 31 games is close to the best in the league, and with 106 fours and 38 sixes this is a player who hits gaps more than stands.
