Hobart have one of the two fullest lists in the league and the deepest attack. Adam Zampa arrived on a two-year deal, Rishad Hossain chose to come back, and Nathan Ellis and Riley Meredith still lead the pace. The batting has Tim David, Ben McDermott and Mitchell Owen, who has the highest career strike rate in the pool.
Is Mitchell Owen worth it?
Owen has struck at 186.86 for 697 runs in 36 BBL games, with two hundreds, and also has 10 wickets. Because Owen is a batter in the game at 9.5 Cr, those overs come as a bonus in a batting slot.
Zampa or Rishad?
Zampa is a bowler at 8.5 Cr with 138 BBL wickets at 23.42 and a 7.28 economy. Rishad costs 8.5 Cr and took 15 wickets from 12 games at 20.87 last season, when the club named Rishad its Player of the Year. The game labels Rishad an all-rounder, but the numbers say bowler: four innings and 27 BBL runs. If you want one, Zampa has the longer record.
Which keeper?
Shai Hope has played only five BBL games, with 103 runs, and costs 9.5 Cr. Hope fills the top-order and keeping job left by Matthew Wade, who retired. Ben McDermott has 3,104 BBL runs and is a keeper in the game at 8 Cr, 1.5 Cr cheaper, which makes McDermott one of the best-value keeper options in the league if used in the top order.
