The Sixers reached another final last year, lost it, and then lost Moises Henriques and Kane Richardson to retirement. Matthew Mott has replaced Greg Shipperd, no captain has been named, and Mitchell Starc is unsigned. The list is deep, and the prices here are the best in the league for bowlers.
Do you pick Steve Smith?
Smith is the best batter in the BBL on the numbers: 1,498 runs at 48.32, a strike rate of 150.86 and four hundreds. But Cricket Australia reported that all-format Australian stars are unlikely to feature much this summer. At 9.5 Cr it is not worth holding Smith until the Test squad is known and the team sheet shows Smith is playing.
Why is Abbott the bargain?
Sean Abbott has 186 wickets at 20.24, the most in BBL history, and costs just 8 Cr. Ben Dwarshuis has 164 at 22.13 for 8.5 Cr. Those two would be the most expensive bowlers in most fantasy games.
Philippe or Seifert?
Philippe is the keeper in the game at 8.5 Cr with 2,745 runs and 110 dismissals. Seifert, who cost the Sixers a reported fee of more than $400,000, is listed as a batter at 8.5 Cr, so you can own both, and if Seifert takes the gloves, you get a keeper in a batter slot.
